  • Textise is an Internet tool that can create a text-only version of almost any web page. The Textise app harnesses this power to give you a quick and easy-to-read browsing experience on your Windows Phone 7. Features: * Text-Only web browsing: View millions of web sites in easy-to-read text. * Font size selector: Choose a font size that suits you. * Home URL: Select a URL as your 'Home URL'. It's easily retrievable and right there when you start up the app. * Recent history: One-click navigation to pages you've recently visited. * Reality: Opens the WP7 browser to view the whole web page. * Theme-sensitive: Adapts to your preferred theme, 'Dark' or 'Light'. * Auto 'Skip To Content': Where possible, Textise can auto-navigate to the main content of a page. Version 1.2 enhancements: * Added new search engines (Google and Yahoo). * Fixed a problem with Recent History. Version 1.1 enhancements: * Improved performance and stability. * Text is no longer truncated on the right. * Added a "Back" button. * Loading of pages can now be interrupted: you can click "Main", "Back" or "Reality" while a page is loading. * If an error occurs, you're now taken back one page rather than to the Main page. * More "skip to content" links are recognised. * Introduced a Trial mode. In Trial mode you can't click more than 2 links away from the Main page. Advantages of Textise over other solutions: * Textised pages are easier to read on a phone. * Textised pages are often quicker to download, especially if you're away from wi-fi. * Works in REAL-TIME, not with cached pages. * Gives you a text-only version of the WHOLE web page, not just edited snippets.

Work as advertised
Does exactly what it says it does. The internet doesn't look that pretty in text-view only, but it sure should cut down on data traffic - which is great if you just want to check news etc. while traveling in foreign countries with outrageous data rates. Would like to see it try to attempt use at least a little of the formatting and layout information available in the HTML code its still loading from the web sites. Also, rendering is not very quick.
